Warrenton, Oregon

Warrenton/Hammond is primarily a fishing and logging community with about 6,500 residents, and is only about a 10 minute drive from Astoria. This is where most of the amenities for the North Coast are, and it serves as a commercial hub (think groceries, food chains, box stores).

What I love about it:

Warrenton has three of my favorite outdoor adventure spaces - Fort Stevens, Fort Clatsop, and Coffenbury Lake. It also has the most accessible spots for driving onto the beach. The neighborhoods have a sleepy coastal feel, and elk herds are often found roaming nearby.

As of August 2024, the average home price in Warrenton is $565,000. If new construction is a priority for you, Warrenton is where you want to be. Housing is pretty diverse here - you can find starter homes, condos with boat slips, gated neighborhoods, ocean views, and moderately sized brand new homes.
