Market Snapshot - August 2018

You know, it’s funny, whenever someone asks me “how’s the market?” (which is basically everyday), I never know how to respond. It’s not that I don’t know the numbers. It’s just that when I start to rattle off “the numbers,” their eyes glaze over and I can see them actually melting from boredom right before my eyes. So recently, I started telling a story every time I get asked. I’ll start with “It’s chaos,” or “it’s a mess.” Something that piques interest. Then I’ll rattle off the numbers, they’ll still melt from boredom (just kidding).

How’s the market?

“Oh, it’s a disaster. Prices just keep going up. Buyers are sprinting for anything under $300,000. Just last month, five houses sold for over a million dollars in Cannon Beach. Can you believe that?

99 houses sold in Clatsop County through the month of August; Days on Market average is 129; Median price is $329,000.”

…Hmm…..interesting….
